Off Season is the New On Season: October in Jackson Hole

October 25, 2021 Laura Lisowski

I’ve been to Jackson Hole in every season, and so far, none beats October, when the leaves are changing and the crowds are low.

I stayed at Anvil Hotel and I can’t imagine a better home base than there. It’s two blocks from the famous Million Dollar Cowboy Bar, all the best restaurants, and provides cozy vibes which seem to suit no matter what the season. Not to mention, their restaurant Glorietta is also *chefs kiss*. During my visit, they even had a guitarist playing oldies tunes on the patio in the evening, which I sat in my room and listened to for over an hour, glass of wine in hand. It was the perfect top off to an already incredible stay.

Rather than overdoing the narrative here, I figured I’d just share below a super concise summary of some of my favorite places to eat, drink and adventure. Being that October is between summer and ski season, you can find plenty of snowy high alpine hiking, with significantly reduced crowds (I had the ever-popular Ampitheater Lake entirely to myself!)
